Starting Home Care Assistance of Michigan was a direct result of the need Rob and Carrie, his wife, saw in their community. Born and raised in Michigan they started Home Care Assistance with the vision of providing loving, reliable, respectful and exceptional care for the elderly. They strongly believe everyone deserves the best in every stage of life and strive to provide the best service and staff to everyone. “We take the necessary steps to hire the very best people, train them and place them in home environments that reward great work.”Today, Rob visits clients in their homes, manages their care and stays in touch with their families. Rob and Carrie have 4 young children and are active in their community.

Tara started her healthcare journey in high school, enrolling in pre-nursing and medical secretarial classes, and continuing on to respiratory therapy classes in college. While working through college, Tara was employed as a medical transcriptionist. “I loved transcribing medical reports because every day I would learn something new about the different fields of medicine.” After 20+ years of self-employment as a transcriptionist, “I decided to enter back into the working world, but I wanted a rewarding position that I could finish out my career with…I found that with Home Care Assistance.” Tara is married with two children and two step-children.

Patricia has worked in healthcare for over twenty years. Prior to joining our team, she was an integral part of a fast-paced primary care physician clinic. Patricia is married and has two children, and five grandchildren. She keeps very active in her church and in her community, with a great deal of volunteer service work behind her. Patricia is honored to join us, as her passion and our mission are one and the same.

Lesa is a Client Care Manager and has worked in the healthcare field for 15 years where she held several leadership positions. In addition to her experience in the health care field, Lesa has held executive leadership positions for large nonprofits in West Michigan. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and Master’s Degrees in Communications and Public Administration.

Lesa has a passion for serving others, and sits on local city and community boards. She is passionate about developing talent in others, and growing a new generation of leaders and civic minded individuals.

My name is Tina Davenport. I am the Client Care Coordinator for our local Home Care Assistance office. I have been in customer service for over 10 years. I enjoy working with the great caregivers and office staff here at Home Care Assistance. It is very rewarding to go home every day knowing that I get to help those in need of our care. I also have two wonderful children, ages 19 & 16.

Darlene C Downs-Jones, Director of OperationsDarlene C Downs-Jones, Director of Operations

Darlene has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. She has worked as a Practice Manager overseeing multiple physician facilities on day to day operations and has served on multiple hospital committees involving quality care, communication and compliance. Utilizing her Project Management background, Darlene developed and implemented processes of improvement for higher quality care. She has a strong compassion for all people stemming from working 9 years in Hospice for private duty, and her compassion continues in her work today.

Shamroon KahnShamroon Kahn, Administrator Home Health

Shamroon Kahn grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Michigan in 2003 after graduating from the University of Windsor. After pursuing a career in the financial industry for four years, he joined Christian Home Health Care at its inception in late 2007. He worked at CHHC as an Assistant Administrator for 2 years and then took over the administrator responsibility. He led CHHC thru a merger with LSSM in 2012 and is currently leading a statewide expansion.
